Privacy Policy
How Precision Build Works collects, uses and protects the information you give us, including the mobile number you provide for text messages.
Who we are
Precision Build Works is a flooring installation and subfloor preparation contractor. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you use our website, request an estimate, or become a customer, and what we do with it.
Our mailing address is 2800 Walnut Avenue, Carmichael, CA, 95608.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to answer your enquiry and to carry out work you ask us to do.
- Contact details you enter yourself — your name, phone number, email address and the address of the property the work concerns.
- What you tell us about your project, including the rooms, materials, measurements and timing you describe.
- Records of our dealings with you: estimates, contracts, appointments, invoices, payments and messages.
- Basic technical information your browser sends when you use the site, such as your IP address and browser type, together with the date and time of the request.
- Where you give consent to receive text messages, a record of that consent — see the section below.
How we use your information
We use your information to run the business you have asked us to work with.
- To respond to your enquiry, prepare an estimate and schedule an appointment.
- To perform contracted work, order materials and manage your project.
- To send transactional messages about your appointments, estimates, documents, project and account.
- To take payment, issue invoices and keep the accounting records the law requires.
- To keep the website and our systems secure, and to detect and prevent abuse.
- To meet our legal, licensing, tax and record-keeping obligations.
Text messaging (SMS)
Precision Build Works sends transactional text messages only. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages under this program.
If you give consent, we use the mobile number you provide to send messages about:
- appointment confirmations, reminders and changes;
- links to your estimate and to documents that need your review or signature;
- updates on the status of your project;
- account notifications, such as a change to your Client Portal account.
How SMS consent works
Text messages are sent only to a number whose owner has ticked the separate, unticked-by-default consent box on our website or in the Client Portal. Giving us a phone number, requesting an estimate, or becoming a customer does not by itself opt you in.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. You can also contact us using the details at the end of this policy and we will remove your number.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. You may request an estimate, receive a price, schedule an appointment and buy from us without agreeing to receive text messages, and we will use email or a phone call instead.
Our text messages are sent from (916) 602-3851.
We keep a record of each consent — the number, the exact wording you agreed to, the date and time, where the consent was given, and the technical details of the request — so that we can show what you agreed to and when. We keep the same record when consent is withdrawn.
Mobile information and third parties
Mobile information, text messaging originator opt-in data, and consent will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
This exclusion is absolute and stands apart from every other permission in this policy: no other consent you give us, and no other sharing described here, extends to your mobile information, your text messaging originator opt-in data or your SMS consent. They are not included in any category of information we share for any purpose other than delivering the transactional messages you asked for.
We use a messaging provider to deliver text messages on our behalf. That provider processes your number only to deliver our messages to you, under contract, and may not use it for its own marketing.
How we share other information
We do not sell your personal information. Apart from the mobile information described above, which is never shared for marketing at all, we share other information only where it is needed to do the work:
- with installers and subcontractors assigned to your project, limited to what they need to do the job;
- with suppliers, to order the materials your project requires;
- with service providers who run parts of our systems — hosting, email and text delivery, payment processing — under contract and only on our instructions;
- with professional advisers, insurers, or a regulator or court where the law requires it.
Address lookup and maps
The address fields on our website use the Google Maps Platform. What you type into an address box is sent to Google to produce the suggestions you see. When you pick one, we ask Google for the structured address behind it, and we ask Google for the driving distance between our office and the property so that we can tell whether it is inside the area we serve.
Three Google services are involved: the Places API for address suggestions and their details, the Geocoding API when an address is typed by hand rather than picked, and the Routes API for driving distance. We do not embed a Google map on this site, and no Google credential is loaded into your browser — every request is made by our own server.
Google handles what it receives under the Google Privacy Policy, at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
The address you enter or select is our own record of where the work is, and we keep it for as long as we keep the enquiry or the project. What Google returns *about* that address — its coordinates and Google’s own formatting of it — is cached for no more than 30 days and then deleted automatically. That deletion never affects your address.
Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses only the cookies needed to keep a signed-in session secure. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share website activity with advertising networks.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry, project, contract, invoice and payment records for as long as we need them to run the business and for as long as tax, licensing and other legal obligations require.
Consent records are kept as evidence for as long as we hold the underlying record, including after consent has been withdrawn, so that we can show what was agreed and when.
Security
Access to customer information is restricted to the people who need it. Passwords are stored hashed, sensitive records are held in access-controlled storage, and changes to significant records are logged.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to stop sending you text messages, to correct information we hold about you, or to tell you what we hold. Reply STOP to any text message, or contact us using the details below.
Where the law gives you further rights over your personal information, we will honour them.
Children's privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will publish the new version here with a new version number and effective date. Consent records continue to name the version that was in force when the consent was given.
